Girl Groups

Yet again, the sounds of Sunday..... this time its girl groups.

The Shirelles- Will You Love Me Tommorow
This was one of the early girl group songs written by Carol King and her first husband Gerry Goffin. Its also one of the first big hits about pre-marital sex.

The Shangri Las- Leader of The Pack
This one was written by Ellie Greenwich who just died last August. Although Ellie claimed to know nothing about being a rebel she also said "... at that time, when you made money, you bought yourself boots or motorcycles."

Then a decade or two later, across the ocean, a whole new flood of new girl groups popped up.

The Nolans: Gotta Pull Myself Together

Doris D and The Pins: Shine Up
This Dutch group is pretty amazing. The lead singer really makes me miss dance parties at school.

Of Course the 80s had their own flood of girl groups.

Bananarama- Really Saying Something

And in the 90s gals really got their shit figured out.

Salt N Pepa featuring En Vogue: Whatta Man
This one goes out to you Sam!

And something pretty recent

The Vivian Girls: When I'm Gone
